Laura's aunt has a Chinese restaurant. It's on Center Street. Laura sometimes helps clean the tables in the restaurant. There she can meet many people and talk with them. Laura enjoys reading. There is no library in the village. But Laura can read in Mrs. White's house. Mrs. White is Laura's friend. She lends（借） many books to Laura and tells stories to her. To thank Mrs. White，Laura often helps her do some shopping.
