Do you hope to get a job when you are still a student? Would you like to spend your own money on something you really want to buy? If your answer is “yes”, then having a part-time job can be a great choice.

I know it's hard to find a part-time job in China, especially for students. With so much schoolwork, who has the time to take a job? However, for Canadian students, having a part-time job is so common that my teachers were surprised to find I didn't have one.

For part-time jobs, students usually work as a cashier(收银员) in a store or as a waiter at a restaurant, or they work in fast food stores like KFC. They take part-time jobs for different reasons. Some want to save money for international trips. Some want to connect with the society(社会), and others are saving money for expensive university tuition(学费).

However, though making money and getting work experiences are important for a student, schoolwork still comes first. So it is very important for part-time workers to find a balance(平衡) between their jobs and school responsibilities(责任). Some students work only on weekends, while some choose to work for only a few hours during weekdays after school.

    1. (1) As a student, if you want to spend your own money, you'd better_________.
      A . ask your parents for it B . find a full time job C . find a part-time job D . borrow some money from friends
    2. (2) Chinese students have _______ so they don't have time to find a job.
A . much schoolwork to do B . much food to eat      C . many friends to make with D . much housework to do
    3. (3) Which of the following is not a reason why students want to take part-time jobs?
A . Save money for a trip B . Buy some things they want C . Connect with the society and pay for tuition D . Make them more relaxed.
    4. (4) Which of the following is TRUE?
A . Students don't have to do schoolwork. B . Students work all the week without going to school. C . Students must find a balance between their jobs and study. D . Students must find a job in China.
    5. (5) The best title of this passage may be _____________.
