    Do you hope to get a job when you are still a student? Would you like to spend your own money on something you really want to buy? If your answer is “yes”, then having a part-time job can be a great choice.

    I know it's hard to find a part-time job in China, especially for students. With so much schoolwork, who has the time to take a job? However, for Canadian students, having a part-time job is so common that my teachers were surprised to find I didn't have one.

    For part-time jobs, students usually work as a cashier(收银员) in a store or as a waiter at a restaurant, or they work in fast food stores like KFC. They take part-time jobs for different reasons. Some want to save money for international trips. Some want to connect with the society(社会), and others are saving money for expensive university tuition(学费).

    However, though making money and getting work experiences are important for a student, schoolwork still comes first. So it is very important for part-time workers to find a balance(平衡) between their jobs and school responsibilities(责任). Some students work only on weekends, while some choose to work for only a few hours during weekdays after school.

    China becomes more and more popular with people from many foreign（外国的）countries. Many foreigners now think of China if they are planning to move overseas. A survey found out which they thought to be the most wonderful cities in China. Here are the results.

    No.1 of the “top ten best cities to live in China 2016” is Shanghai. It's not surprising at all, is it ? Most foreigners always find Shanghai friendly, beautiful and full of interesting things to see and do. Foreigners can find a lot of jobs there. But it's quite expensive to live in Shanghai.

    No.2 is Beijing. Though the weather there is not good, Beijing is China's political（政治）, culture and educational center. There are many big places of interest, like the Great Wall, the Summer Palace and the Temple of Heaven... It's quite easy to live in Beijing. You can easily get almost everything you need there.

    Guess which No.3 city is? It's Shenzhen. It's a modern city where many foreigners do business there. If you like a more relaxing lifestyle, you can think about somewhere like Hangzhou, Suzhou or Chengdu. If you like a sea lifestyle, Xiamen or Qingdao would be great. They are all on the list of top ten, too. What's more, Nanjing and Tianjin are also on the top 10. Which city do you like?

    People know well about reading online. But do you hear “reading on the line?” Line 2 of Shanghai's subway opened a “guerilla library”(流动图书馆). This underground library allows every passengers to borrow a book at one station, and leave it at another station when they get off.

    With the help of Aizhi bookstores and Hujiang. com, Metro Line 2 opened the library for the public, and some online education companies also give their help. It helps more people to read books and make better use of their time while they are in the subway. People gave back the books in the next station after reading, and many of them even put one yuan in the “idea box”, which is used for charity（慈善）.

    Unlike a traditional library, the Line 2 guerilla library is usually simple and easy. On the corner of every station stand a few shelves of books. Passengers can take their favorite books without any formalities(手续).

    Study shows that people today don't need read many books these days. Last year, people in China aged 18-70 read fewer than five books. Most people use the excuse that they're just too busy or reading is boring. Well, some books may be boring, but reading certainly isn't.

    These days it is found that school students hardly have any sports. It is because they have no 1in sports. It may not be true. They often say they have much 2 important things to do.

    What are these important things? Exams! They have to 3 ready for all kinds of exams and tests at school.

    Because of their parents and teachers, they have to work harder and spend most of their time reading. As for the students themselves, they don't want to 4 the lessons because they want to improve(提高) their studies. So it is necessary to give all of their free time to their studies and give up their school sports.

    Good education can't go without physical training. It is true that students aren't able to study well if they are weak. Without a strong body you can 5 do anything well. Then how can you make great success in life?

    Watching TV is a very popular thing in the UK, but what kind of shows do people in the UK like to watch? Well, the most-watched TV shows every week are very popular dramas（戏剧）that are usually on at least four times every week. They are dramas1the life in the UK. We call these dramas “soap opera” or “soaps”.

    Every day, lots of fans are waiting 2 their favorite soap operas. Soap operas were 3on TV in 1952. The soap opera is not about a soap, and it is not an opera, either. It got this name because in the 1930s, soap companies(公司)4for the shows, and they told stories just like operas did. What makes the soap opera special is that the story never comes to an end.

    There are daytime and nighttime soaps. Daytime soaps usually have more 5 and they are usually made for the housewives who are often at home, 6 some washing and looking after the house and the children. Nighttime soaps are usually on once a week, and each lasts(持续) for about one hour. Most soap operas these days are shown in the evening. Each show7have many different storylines. Some of them happen at once and 8 may continue(继续) over the following shows. The same actor or actress may be seen in every show.

    Soap operas are in different time in today's TV market, 9 they are still here to say. Big fans will never give them up10.

    Children sometimes get sick(生病) and need to go to hospital. Some of them have to stay there for a few  (day). It is not good for them (think) about their sickness all day long. They need some other things to think about, so people ask animals  help. In some places, workers from zoos often (take) animals to visit children in hospital. They may bring a little dog or a  (cute) monkey with them. Children are  (exciting) to see them.

     ，some children cannot get close to the animals. The animals may make their sickness get even (bad). How can we help these children? The hospitals get another good idea. They work with zoos to make movies. The movies are all about lovely animals. Children in hospital can watch these movies and learn the animals'  (live) habits. A man(call) Denny Sanford made a TV network (网络)to show these movies. It is used in many hospitals in the US today.

When 4-year-old English family member Prince George(乔治王子) started his first day of school in September, Chinese language was on his curriculum(课程表).

And he wasn't the only one kid. According to a report published by the British Council(英国文化协会) in September, about 51 percent of UK parents want their children to learn Chinese, because it's one of the most useful languages.

In fact, the popularity of Chinese made the UK government start the Mandarin Excellence Programme in September last year. Its aim(目的) is to make at least 5000 English students speak Chinese well by 2020.

Yet, the UK isn't the only country showing a growing interest in Chinese. The language becomes the second most spoken foreign language in the USA this year, after only Spanish, with over 2.1 million speakers.

Many US famous people such as Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and Malia Obama, former US President(总统) Barak Obama's daughter, study Chinese as a second language.

In April, Arabella and Joseph Kushner, grandchildren of US President Donald Trump, sang the traditional folk music Jasmine in Mandarin for Chinese President Xi Jingping when the two leaders met in Florida.

So far, 67 countries have studied Chinese in their national curriculum, reported the Chinese website.
