The Silk Road(丝绸之路) is a very important way between China and the Mediterranean. It starts in the Western Han Dynasty and it's been a bridge between the East and the West for over 2,000 years.
The ancient road starts from Chang'an (now Xi'an) and ends in Eastern Europe near the Mediterranean Sea. It is about 6,500 kilometers(千米) long and goes across 1/4 of the world.
The Silk Road gets its name because Chinese carry silk to the west along this road centuries ago. Silk and iron go west to Rome. And from the west come glass and food like carrots.
The Silk Road is very important to both China and the world. It is not only an ancient trade(贸易) road but also a way to share knowledge like art, science and etc.
Today, China is connecting(联系) with the world more closely through Belt and Road (一带一路), looking forward to seeing a more open world economy(经济).
Dara is a good and clever shepherd(牧羊人). Because he looks after the sheep well, they never get lost. People see that he is good at leading(领导), so they make him the leader of their town.
However, some people don't like Dara. They tell lies(谎言) to the king about Dara. They say he is a thief(小偷) and that he takes money from people and keeps it in a box on his camel(骆驼).
The king goes to Dara's town to have a look. He finds Dara and he is just riding on his camel with a box on it. The king becomes angry(生气的) and asks Dara to open the box, so he could look inside.
When Dara opens the box, there are only things for a shepherd to use, not money.
Dara tells the king, "These are just for my work as a shepherd. I often look at them, thinking about my past. They tell me to stay good and be happy with what I have today."
After hearing that, the king says, "So nice of you to say that". He makes Dara the leader of another town. After that, more and more people in the country know of Dara and believe in(信任) him.

When I was young, Mother's Day was just as special (特别的) as Christmas.
