May is a beautiful month full of sunshine and flowers. It is also the1 when we show thanks to our mothers on Mother's Day.
In my family, the celebration of Mother's Day is 2 every year. Two years ago, I made a big 3 for my mom and she still remembers all the dishes I cooked that morning. Last year, I 4 some of my old books and I bought her a scarf with the money. She uses it all the time.
I wanted to do 5 special on Mother's Day this year. In late April, I started to look for different gift 6 on the Internet. It took me about two weeks to get a final idea. 7 , I decided to make several (几个) cards by hand. And then I put the cards and a bag of colorful 8 in a box. Of course, I wrote some words 9 the cards. The words were all about 10 jobs I could help my mom do at home, like doing the dishes and cleaning the floor.
On the night before Mother's Day, I went into my mom's room 11 and put the gift on her bed when she was sleeping. When she 12 in the morning, she found the cards. She was very excited about my gift and 13 a lot of time looking at the cards and enjoyed the candies.
Mother's Day is a happy moment (时光) for me to 14 my mom. I will try to show my love 15 she cares about me so much every day. Mother's love is the best in my heart.

Ren Jilan was born in a 1992. Her family was poor because of her parents' bad health. With the help of some kind people, she finished her 12-year school study and was accepted by a university at the age of 22. It had always been her dream to study in a university but her family didn't have enough money. When she was going to give up (放弃), Li Zhenhua, a teacher at Yiyuan County, came and helped her.
However, the four-year university life didn't go as well as Ren wished. After her father died, she decided to take her mother with her. She rented (租用) a small house near the university and started her special university life. Life was not easy during the four years, but Ren enjoyed it.
Though she got an opportunity to work as a teacher in a big city, Ren turned it down and chose to go back to her hometown. She became a teacher at Fuluping School, where Mr. Li once worked. "Mr. Li gave up a good job in a big city to teach students at the village school. I'd like to follow his example and do something for rural (乡村的) education, " says Ren.
In 2022, Ren got the China Youth May 4th Medal—the country's top honor (荣誉) for excellent young people.
Now many people still go to work and school on buses, trains and bikes. However, some people dream of a day when they can fly in the sky.
In Singapore, a company (公司) has showed a flying taxi. If some people traveled in flying taxis, there would be fewer cars on the roads. It could be less crowded. In the 3d space (三维空间) of the sky, cars could move around each other without bridges or roads. The taxis could also take off and arrive on rooftops. That can save parking (停车) space on the ground (地面). And flying is fun. It's cool to fly in the sky every day on the way to work.
However, there are quite a few reasons why people don't need flying cars. A famous scientist has a rocket company and a car company. It seems that he can make flying cars, but he said, "If the sky was full of flying cars, it would be noisier. Something might fall on people's heads more easily. Those are not good things. "
He thinks it's much better to build lots of tunnels (隧道) underground. What do you think of it? Are flying cars or taxis a good idea? Shall we find other ways to solve the traffic (交通) problems?
① less pollution ② more parking space
③ safer (更安全的) traffic ④ light (畅通的) traffic ⑤ more fun

The dragon is a great animal in Chinese culture. It brings the wind and rain. It is said that every year on the second day of the second lunar (阴历的) month, the dragon wakes up from its winter sleep and raises its head. Because of this, the day is called "Dragon Heads-raising Day" (Longtaitou). This year, it falls on March 14th.
Old people believed that after Longtaitou, there would be more rain. And rain is very important to farming. So Longtaitou was the start of spring and farming.
People have many ways to celebrate the festival. The most popular one is to have a haircut. Many people believe that a haircut during the first lunar month may bring bad luck to your uncles—mainly your mother's brothers. They hope getting a haircut on Longtaitou keeps them away from bad luck.
Among (在……之中) Chinese people's festival traditions, there is always a place for food. During the Longtaitou festival, people like to eat food named after dragons. Noodles are called dragon's beard (longxu). Dumplings are dragon's ears (long'er). And spring rolls (春卷) are dragon's skin (longlin).
Last Friday, my students and I went to a talk on health at Health Club. We went there b bus. We listened to the talk for more than two hours. There, the students learned h to eat and exercise. Everyone said they learned a lot. At about twelve, we had some delicious food in the r of the club. After lunch, it (start) to rain. We had to get on the bus. On (we) way back to school, I asked the students about their exercise and (eat) habits. Here are the results.
Only twenty percent of the students usually exercise, and eighty percent like staying at home and watching TV. The answers t the questions about eating habits were also interesting. Mof them usually eat vegetables. All the students always eat junk food. But few students d coffee. Now they decide to exercise more and eat more (healthy).
