Summer is a good season for vacation. It is often very hot during July and August. Students do not go to school during these months. Most American families like to travel during their summer vacation. Many families take their lunch to a park or far from the city. They like to eat where there are many trees or a nice lake. If they live near the sea, they often go to the . Why do people like going to the beach? I think it is the sand, the sea and the sun. Of course, there are lots of new things to see, nice things to eat and exciting things to , but it is the feeling of sand under one's feet, of salty water on one's skin, and of the warm sun on one's back that makes the seaside what it is. 

Many like to meet people from other countries like Mexico or Canada. Some people have enough time and money to travel to other countries like France or Japan. They usually to these countries. 

The United States is a very large country. Lots of families travel by car or by train to see interesting places in their own . People like visiting New York, Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles. These big cities have many famous , theaters, stores and other places of interest for tourists. 

Certainly not  likes to go to busy cities. Some families travel to the mountains or to beautiful countries. They usually take a camera, and return with a lot of nice pictures of the places they  . Then they would share them with their friends. 

Many people today like exercising. Some like to run, and some like to walk. Others like to dance or play ball games. They do different kinds of exercise. Why do people like exercising? Because it's good for their health. And exercise helps make them tired, so they sleep better at night. 

You may like to run. If you do, take care of your feet. Make sure you have the right shoes. Some people like to run on the roads, but they must watch out for cars. 

Walking is good exercise. You may take a long walk in the park. It's more fun to go with a friend. The two of you may have a good time. 

Some people like to swim. But others don't like to go into the water. If you like this kind of exercise, make sure that someone is watching you. You must always take care when you are in the water. 

Jumping rope and riding a bike are also good exercise. 

There are many other kinds of exercise. Find out what you like. You may need help at first. Some people often do exercise, and they can help you. Do exercise every day, and you will know how it makes you feel. 

Today is Saturday and there will be a concert at Grand Concert Hall at 7:30 p. m. Lily and Lucy arrived there early, and they were reading the notice to the audience.

·All the audience should dress neatly, and if you don't, we won't let you in. 

·Don't wear your slippers into the concert hall. If you do, you won't go to the concert. 

·Don't take food or drinks into the concert hall. If you do, we will take them away.

Teeth are very important for our health. They will be our good friends. So we should learn to protect (保护) them at a very young age. Here are some tips:

First, we should eat right. 

* Don't eat too much candy or drink too much cola, or our teeth will go bad easily. 

* Have more cheese and milk to make teeth strong. 

* Eat more vegetables and fruits to help clean teeth. 

Second, we should remember these numbers in mind. 

* 2/Day  Brush our teeth at least twice a day: in the morning and before bedtime. 

* 2-3 Minutes   Brush our teeth at least two to three minutes every time. 

* 3 Months   Get a new toothbrush every three months. 

* 6 Months   Go to the dentist every six months for a check-up. 

★ When you live with other people at school, it's important to keep a good relationship with your roommates(室友). Here is some advice. 

★ Rules are important. It's necessary to make rules with your room-mates together. You can talk about things you like and dislike. Then you can put all those things into rules. This can make all of you comfortable to live in the same room. 

★Nobody likes to live in a dirty room. If you just throw your dirty clothes away or don't take out the trash, no one in your room can be happy. Although it's hard to clean your room every day, you need to clean it at least twice a week. 

★ Don't take or use anything from your roommates without asking! If your roommates know that, he or she must be unhappy. Besides, don't read your roommates' notebooks, letters or diaries to respect others' privacy (尊重…隐私). 

★ If you want to keep a good relationship with your roommates, you should spend some time together. In this way, you can know more about each other and find out what you have in common. 

Eating habits are different in different countries. The Chinese have a saying, "Eat good things for breakfast, eat a big meal for lunch, but eat less at supper. " Many people in the USA agree that people start a day with a good breakfast,

Most people in America only have a short time for their lunch,After work,they can have more time to eat a big dinner. Also a quiet dinner at home with all the family members talking about their day is a good way to take a good rest after a long,hard day of work. 

 In China, very often you can hear people talking and laughing loudly, and they are just having a good time. it is not like this. They usually eat a good meal far away from the noisy places. If they are making some noise（噪音）, even the manager of the restaurant will ask them to be quiet. 

Mike is a very popular singer in America. He is very busy. But he usually spends Christmas Day with his parents. In the morning they go to church(教堂). Then Mike's father cooks a turkey for the big Christmas lunch. It's very delicious. Mike loves it very much. After lunch, they open their Christmas gifts. "I love opening gifts. It's exciting," says Mike. Last Christmas he gave his parents a painting and they gave him a book. 

Los Angeles is cold at Christmas, but they like to go out on Christmas Day. They often have a walk on the beach in the afternoon. In the evening they talk and play games in their house. But they don't watch TV. "Christmas TV is really boring," Mike says.
