More than 200 picture books are on show by the International College of Central Academy of Fine Arts(中央美术学院) in Beijing. Picture books were not something introduced to China from abroad in modern time. Instead, they have always been a part of the lives of Chinese people. They were used for both fun and education. A young woman spends her time helping people know more about saving Yangtze's "smiling angels". The Yangtze River is home to the endangered (濒危的) Yangtze finless porpoises(长江江豚). We know them as the "smiling angels" because of their special mouths.
____. There are only around 1, 000 of the porpoises left. The government, scientists and volunteers(志愿者) are working hard to save them. Tan Ge is one of them.
Tan Ge was born in 1991. She grew up in Hunan's Yueyang, a city beside Dongting Lake. The lake is linked (连接的) to the Yangtze River. After learning about this important animal and the importance of protecting the animal, she joined a group of volunteers and started working to protect them.
As she worked with the volunteers, Tan Ge learned more about the animal. And she knew that maybe a lot of people, like herself, didn't know much of the animal. So, in 2018, she joined the association (协会) to save them.
Since then, she has tried her best to work for the animal. She has taken part in over 350 field trips to fight against bad fishing. She saved not only finless porpoises, but also other wildlife species (物种) in the area.
Many people in the world are short of basic skills. That's why governments are paying attention to food education in schools. They want students to have a good relationship(关系) with food and know about its importance.
Schools give kids different information on food. So, students learn about not only healthy eating but also food production (生产) and waste. They learn to make different food, too.
For example, UK students from 7 to 14 must learn to cook basic meals. In this way, students can learn a useful skill and good food habits.
In the US, schools use a farm﹣to﹣school method. They buy fresh food from local farms for their restaurants. Students also go on field trips to the farms. In some areas, US students learn to garden, too. When they grow their own fruit and vegetables, they respect(尊重) food more. They also try not to waste it.
Japan even has a rule on food education. Students can't skip(略过) breakfast, and they can't eat fast food. Students are living healthier lives thanks to good food education.

With the month of May coming near, the hot days are getting closer. It's t for the second solar term (节气) in summer—Grain Buds. Grain Buds starts on May21 and e on June 5 this year. The Chinese characters(汉字) Xiao Man means that the seeds of the grains(谷物) are (become) full . Xiao Man also means a lot of rain.
