Have you ever seen (曾经见过) snow? Many people1the world have not. Some countries never have snow; some have only2on the tops of very high mountains.3the north of England4quite a lot of snow every winter,5in the south of England, there is usually little.
When a student from a6country comes to England in autumn for the first time, he feels cold at first. There are often dark clouds, grey sky and cold rain in England in autumn, and most students from warm countries do not like this.

I like rainy days. Here are some of the reasons （理由）.
I think that rain can make the air cool off. No matter （无论） how hot it is，it gets cooler when it rains. I like opening my windows to let the cooler air in.
I like the smell in the air when it begins to rain. It's a kind of clean and fresh smell.
I like the sound （声音） of rain when it hits things. I like closing my eyes and listening to the rain coming down，and I like hearing different sounds of rain.
I like rainy days，because they give me an excuse （借口） to stay in and be lazy. That is one of the best things in my daily life. And reading a good book on a rainy day is one of my favorite things.
Another reason is that it makes the grass green and helps the trees and flowers grow.
Sandra is from New York，America. She lives with her parents and her brother. She goes to a middle school in the center of the city.
Last summer Sandra came to China to study Chinese. She stayed in Beijing for a month. She lived in a Chinese family and shared（分享） a room with a girl from India. They became very good friends. They had classes in the same school. In the school they met other boys and girls from different countries.
On weekends，they didn't have to go to school and they often spent their time visiting Beijing. They visited the Palace Museum（故宫博物院） and climbed the Great Wall（长城）. Sometimes they went camping（露营）. When Sandra went back to New York，she felt very happy. It was a really wonderful summer. She will never forget.
