Do you know how to make a parachute (降落伞) by yourself? Have you tried to make the parachute stay in the air longer?
Recently, our school held a parachute-making contest. We needed to make a parachute with materials given to us by our teachers. The parachutes we see in our daily lives seem complicated. But it's not too difficult to make a simple one.
First, we cut a plastic bag into a round shape. Next, we sewed the bag with some thread (线) through the hole. Last, we gathered (集合) the thread and tied them into a knot with a weight.
The most difficult part was to work with others as a team because different members had different ideas. After discussion and research, we agreed that the larger the plastic bag we cut, the better it would be. We even learned the control variate (量) method to know what affects the parachute, like the weight, material, surface area and so on.
We stood out from our class to compete against the other 12 teams in the final. The rule was to fly our parachutes at a height of 3 meters. The winner would be the one that flew the furthest. Luckily, we won! I learned how to work in a team and realized that gaining knowledge starts with practice.
a. tie the thread into a knot with a heavy thing.
b. cut a plastic bag into a round shape.
c. put the thread together.

No wonder it is called the Key to the North Gate of Beijing. I love the walls built by using bar stones and bricks(砖) along mountains. I am excited to see Suzhou gardens while enjoying tea with my Chinese friends. It's an amazing experience. I didn't know there is such a park to admire flowers. We were very excited and my son even bought some sunflower seeds (种子). I love Beijing hutong and this is surely the best place to experience the hutong culture of Beijing. I also bought some special food there. My kids were interested in the daily life of ancient Chinese emperors and were very excited to see many things shown in this museum. |

What is confidence? Believe it or , different people will tell different kinds of confidence. When some of my friends talk about confidence, they will talk about one's job, money, success, beauty, family or education. My opinion on confidence has nothing to with these.
My experience makes me believe confidence comes from within (内在). In words, confidence is an active attitude within us that makes a difference to our actions. People with confidence always have an active mind. When they face difficulties, they will not heart.
They believe they can overcome the difficulties, and even make plans for the better When things don't go their way, they focus on the hope first. And then, many of them will always make up their to change the bad situation.
If they , they will get back on their feet quickly. They don't allow bad feelings to affect their lives. Even if their hard work doesn't pay , they still believe that at least they have tried their to overcome their challenges with courage. To them, what leads to success is to stay active and happy. That is real confidence. So, if one wants to enjoy his life, he must try to be in real confidence. Life is not , but it will become easier for people with more confidence.
If you look around your city, you might see girls wearing hanfu in subways or people wearing T-shirts with Chinese characters on the streets. A new trend in China - guochao, or "China-chic" is Popular with young people.
Zhang Lingling, a video maker, holds a party with her friends every month. At the party, all the people wear hanfu and sing songs with traditional instruments. And these songs are based on ancient poems. "I'm really interested in clothes, songs and games based on traditional culture. I'm buying the items just because they satisfy my esthetic (审美) needs," she told China Daily. Like Zhang, there are many young people fond of traditional Chinese culture. A report by Bilibili in February showed that over 177 million of the platform's users loved videos full of traditional culture.
Looking for the reason behind guochao, Ji Fangfang, a professor of Social Sciences, said, "It's because traditional culture is the best way to tell our national identity (身份)." No matter how the guochao trend develops, people always keep positive toward the country's development. "It also shows our growing confidence in national culture." said Yao Linqing, a professor in Communication University of China.
