Sara was sitting on the sofa and thinking about her birthday party. Because of the terrible storm, her 1 planned to have the party the next weekend. Sara didn't understand why.

Many years ago when people had no thermometers(温度计), they usually touched a thing to see how hot or cold it was. The following experiment shows how easy it was to make a mistake.
Take three glasses: the first with very hot water, the second one with very cold water, and the third one with water at room temperature. Then you put a finger of one hand in the hot water, and a finger of the other hand in the cold water. You hold your fingers in the two glasses for a minute. Then you use each finger, one after another, to see how hot or cold the water in the third glass is. For example, when you are going to an amusement park by bus and you want to get there very quickly, it seems to you that your bus is going very slowly, slower than the other buses. But if it is Sunday and you have much free time, it seems to you all the buses and cars are going very fast.
Last weekend, my mother said, "Let's buy some new clothes for you. "I was very happy and surprised because my family didn't have much money at that time. She took me to the clothes shop and bought me three dresses: a pink one, a purple one, a white and blue one. I loved that white and blue dress best.
Lucy was my best friend. She lived across from my house. I couldn't wait to show my beautiful dresses to her as soon as I got home. She loved all of them and was happy for me. I shared my dress with my friend, and she shared her happiness with me. That's friendship. And we are still best friends today!

He asked him to spend more money, tell people not to throw rubbish into the river and have a wall to keep children safe. The head of the city listened to him. Now the river is cleaner.
At home, Chen is a good boy. He washes his clothes and he also cooks meals for the family sometimes. Chen says his hero is Premier(总理) Wen Jiabao. "He is very brave. He is not afraid of difficulties and makes China stronger," Chen said. Will Chen become a big leader of tomorrow?
