Every baby likes sitting in the pram (婴儿车) which are pushed by their mothers along the road or in the park. They sit in the prams eating, drinking, laughing or sleeping.

However, there aren't any babies in the prams, but adults instead. They jump out of the prams and drinks lots of milk on the table along the road. Then they get into the prams and go on racing. The Pram Race is held to raise money for the people in need. For example, it helps to make it possible for disabled people to have wheelchairs for free.
It all started when Hull was a fishing town. Every Friday afternoon, fishermen's wives had to run, pushing the prams with their babies in. They took money to pay their bills and buy food rapidly before their husbands returned from the sea.
At the beginning, only a few people were interested in the race, but now quite a lot of people include children，teenagers and the old take part in it each year. It is watched by more than three thousand people. These days, the Pram Race has become more famous in the town. It is school time again, a new start of a new period. You are, probably feeling excited and a little sad that summer is over. Some kids feel nervous or a little scared on the first day of school because of the new things, new teachers, and maybe even a new school. Luckily, these new worries only stay for a little while.

Every Saturday, Grandpa and I walk to the nursing home to visit soma of the old and sick people there because they can't take care of themselves.
First we visit Mrs. Sokol. I call her" The Cook. People would come from miles, just to taste her chicken soup.
Next we visit Mr. Lipman. I call him" The Singer" because he loves to sing for us.
I also enjoy Mrs. Kagan's stories about her own experiences during the old days. I call her The Memory Lady. "
One day Grandpa got very sick and the doctor said they didn't think he would get better.
I had to go alone. Everyone was surprised when I told them that my grandpa was ill and in hospital.
A few days later, Grandpa was not able to sit up, eat or even speak. I went to the corner of the room so Grandpa wouldn't see me cry. Suddenly, I heard someone singing. I looked up. It was the Singer. The Cook brought her famous homemade chicken soup. The Memory Lady held Grandpa's hand and told us how Grandpa once came to visit her in a snowstorm, just to bring her some roses for her birthday.
Before I realized it, visiting hours were up. That evening, Grandpa called the nurse in and said he was hungry. Soon he began to sit up. Finally he was able to get out of bed.

In films, spies(间谍) are lucky people. They are smart and adventurous(冒险的). But areal spy's-life is not that exciting. They must live a life of lies. Their work is dangerous and they may have to pay for it with their lives. American spy Nathan Hale (1755-1776) was one of these people.
Why does someone want to be a spy? Some do it for their country. Some for money. Some just love it. Nathan Hale became a spy for the first reason. He lived during the American Revolution (革命). He and his people fought the British army.
In 1774, Hale joined the American army. Before that, he was a schoolteacher. Two years later, he chose to be a spy. He had to get information from the British army. He went to the city where the British army was staying. He told them that he was a schoolteacher and wanted to find a new job. He tried to get information for the American army. Hale finally got something important and decided to go back. He hid some papers in his boots. He went to the riverbank and waited for a boat to pick him up. However, British soldiers caught Hale at the riverbank and found the papers in his boots. It turned out that as a young spy, Hale didn't have enough experience. He had told his secret to somebody else. But that person sold him out to the British army. Hale died on Sept 22, 1776. His final words were: "I only regret I have but one life to lose for my country." He died at the age of 21.
A sudden ringing woke Peter up. He turned on the light, got up and went to answer the telephone. "Are you still (lie) on the bed?" came Henry's voice. "Yes, "said Peter." But it (be) only four. "
