When you meet an accident or a dangerous situation, you need to call the emergency operators(紧急接线员) first. But not everyone feels it's easy when talking to emergency operators. Sometimes they don't know what they can say.

    Nature (性质) of the emergency.

Be simple. Don't tell the story of a car going all over the road. Simply tell the operator what you have seen.

If you're calling on a mobile phone, do not think that the operator knows where you are. You need to tell them where you are. If you don't know, describe the area clearly, including information like stores' names, shopping centers or crossings.

    Information of the emergency.

Information about whether someone gets hurt. Do your best to tell them how many people get hurt.

It helps the operators to know the detailed(详细的) situation of the accident. Leave your own phone number. If someone needs to keep in touch with you about being a witness(目击者), this is also a good way to find you.

    Correct answers of the emergency.

In addition to those mentioned above, if you don't know the answer to a question, then say no to the operators. They would rather you didn't answer the question than give wrong information.

I hope you don't need to make these calls. If you need, stay calm and give as much information as you can.

    A. The place of the emergency.

    B. Don't try to guess the answer.

    C. If you don't know, you can tell them what you think.

    D. Here's what you need to say when you call 120 or 110.

    E. If you know the address of the emergency, it will be great!

    F. By this way, it will be easier for the operator to connect with you.

When I signed up to volunteer at a local hospital last year, I didn't have any real expectations. I decided to do it mainly because my friends were planning to do volunteer work.

On my first day, I was told to stand next to an information sign to answer any question that came my way. On the third day, I noticed a wheelchair speeding in my direction. A young boy about six with the biggest smile I have ever seen was sitting in it. The boy stopped in front of me and said, "Who are you? You're in my hospital and I don't even know you!"

The boy with his irresistible(不可抗拒的) smile completely made me relax. I introduced myself and explained that I was new. Then, he began to tell me about his medical history, his favorite football player and other things about his life. From our conversation, I knew he was there for his weekly check-up. He wasn't afraid of being in hospital because he believed the doctor would cure(治愈) his legs at last. Our conversation changed my view of young children, illness and hospitals.

This led to my becoming a volunteer in the children's department and being a positive(积极的) person later, and also to my decision to study medicine at university and become a doctor. Volunteering might not do the same for everyone, but in my case, it was a life-changer.

A . It made his volunteer work more interesting. B . It helped him learn information about the disabled. C . It changed his view of young children, illness and hospitals. D . It encouraged him to do more volunteer work in different fields.
    4. (4) What can we know about the little boy?
A . He knew many doctors in the hospital. B . He showed people the way in the hospital. C . He fought with illness positively. D . He wanted to be a doctor in the future.

Many of us may have experienced the surprise of seeing recommended(推荐的) songs after listening to certain songs on a music app. When we open shopping websites, we are more likely to see things that we might want to buy.

This is based on data (数据). Data is not only about numbers, but also information from almost every part of our lives:our location, shopping habits and interests. All of these are called "big data".

President Xi Jinping called for China to speed up its big data level in order to better serve social and economic(经济的) development and improve people's lives. He also asked for greater use of big data in areas like education, social safety and transportation.

In the past few years, we have seen big data being used more often in China. The role it plays in tourism is just one example. The data travelers share online is providing the tourism industry with a lot of information about the country's scenic areas. After the data is analyzed (分析), different scenic areas can create their own online information for other travelers to see. The information not only tells travelers' reviews, but also tells the scenic areas where services need to be improved.

Why is music so important to children? Here are some of my thoughts on the subject.

Music has a positive (积极的) effect on young children's development! New research shows that music has a good influence on young children's cognitive (认知的) skills, such as spatial reasoning (空间推理) and memory. Research also shows that offering children an interesting environment can support children's healthy growth and development.

Young children enjoy making music with others! Making music with others gives children a wonderful feeling of belonging to the group. Children might have difficulty joining in activities with others because they are shy, have limited language ability or special needs, but they can freely take part in a music activity.

Music makes young children happy! Children seem to experience much pleasure and joy when listening to music, making music and dancing to music. Whether they are singing along to a CD, playing an instrument or dancing to music around the classroom, most children seem to enjoy participating in a music activity. How wonderful it is to offer children the chance to take part in some activities about music!

The activities can make children feel relaxed.
