One day, Sally got into a fight with one of her classmates. Then she went home and told her mother her story. “I don't want to make friends with Alice any more. She is too bad, I hate her.” The girl said1.
The mother listened to Sally carefully, then she said in a soft voice, “My dear, let me tell you a story of 2. When I was young, it was 3 for me to be angry. As a result, it just made me feel 4. Do you know why?”

Confidence（自信）is very important in daily life. It can help you to develop a healthy attitude（态度）. A study shows that the people who are more confident are much happier.
They can have more chance to make themselves successful. Here are some suggestions about how to be more confident.
Speak loud When you are not confident, you can't do well what you want to do. You speak in a voice so low that other people can hardly hear you. Try to speak aloud enough so that people can hear you clearly. The high voice can help you become more confident.
Play sports Physical exercise makes you tired but completely relaxed. A strong body helps you be full of confidence.
Encourage yourself Write down a list of things you did during the day to see how many things you have done well. Did you finish your homework? Did you tell a joke that made everybody laugh? Give yourself praise for the good things you've done.
Pick up a hobby If you like singing, sing as much as you can. In some ways, a hobby can make you outstanding. And it will make you happy and confident.
Get rid of（消除）fear Fear comes along with failure（失败）. But it's easy to overcome（战胜）if you know that failure is part of your life. Don't hide your head just because you said something stupid last time. Try to start again and believe you can do better.
Garbage sorting(垃圾分类) began on July 1, 2019. However, I, with the other 238 families who live in my building, have been living with a similar system for years. Here, I'd like to talk about our experiences.
In October 2016, the government chose our neighborhood to be part of a pilot(试点的) program for garbage sorting. To help the program run successfully, we set up a volunteer team. I am one of the volunteers. Several of us, however, questioned whether we could lead people in the building to change their habits.
We began with the usual ways. We handed out notices around the neighborhood. We also went door to door to tell people how to sort garbage. However, they made many mistakes. For example, many didn't know wet rubbish meant food waste. Instead, they thought it meant rubbish that was wet. Some even refused to sort their garbage.
As a result, we volunteers had to do lots of sorting ourselves. At the same time we went around explaining the rules. We kept talking to those who refused to sort their garbage. We let them know we had sorted their garbage for them. It was a matter of time and patience(耐心). We believed they would finally change their mind.
Six months later we were successful in changing people's mind. People in my building began sorting their garbage. Some even joined us to help us.
I think face-to-face talks played an important role. Sometimes, these talks led to conflicts(冲突), but they were much more effective(有效的) than handing out notices. It was interesting to see what happened. I hope everyone knows garbage sorting is good for them.
How do you go to school every day? By bike or on foot? Maybe you can try a new way — taking an S'Cool Bus.
The S'Cool Bus is also called the bike bus. Netherlands is a bike kingdom. Someone invented this kind of bicycle in Netherlands. It's interesting for kids to ride the bike bus together to go to school.
Also, it is very safe. The bike bus has a driver and eleven seats for kids. Each one has a helmet and safety belt (安全带). There is a roof on the bus. It can be used on hot days or rainy days to make kids feel comfortable.
Riding the bike bus is one of the greatest ways for children to get to school. Peter is a 10-year-old boy. He becomes a big fan of the bike bus. “Now the S'Cool Bus is my favorite way of vehicle. I can ride it together with other kids to keep healthy. It's full of fun.” For most parents, it can help them save a lot of time because they don't have to pick up their children after school.
The S'Cool Bus is becoming more and more popular in some countries like Germany and France. Its inventor Thomas Tolkamp says, “I hope I can sell the bike bus to more countries in the future. As the green lifestyle (生活方式) becomes popular, ideas like this get popular, too. I think it will work well in other countries.” The use of S'Cool Bus shows us that we can save the Earth in many ways as long as we want to have a try.
F1 is a car race. The drivers go at over 300 kilometers an hour every race. But F1 cars don't always go so fast at the beginning.
It was much easier than it is today. Modern grand prix (大奖赛) F1 racing began in 1950 in Britain. “Grand prix” means “large prize”. There are races at different tracks (路线) all over the world from March to October every year. So far, F1 has 18 races throughout the year. It means that there are 18 races around the world.
During a F1 race, drivers have to make several stops to change tires (轮胎) and put more petrol (汽油) in their cars. Some people lift the car up, others change the tires. While this person works on the tires, another person puts petrol in the car and a different person cleans the driver's helmet. One person talks to the driver about how to win.
First, cars of different teams have different colors. Then there are a lot of advertisements on the cars.

When I was young, my father told me that some acts of /lʌv/ may give someone happiness. So I always try my best to help others.
One afternoon, it was very hot. I was on the highway to Fuzhou when another car suddenly came into my lane (车道). My car was in the far right lane, so it ran into the roadside. But luckily, it didn't cause accident.
I was (happy) with that driver, but I thought that he just did not pay attention to the lane change, and maybe he was just (care).
The car ran away after cutting me off. Very soon it disappeared. After a while, I came around a curve (弯道) and found the car. The driver was walking along the roadside. He looked (worry). The man's car had a flat tire (瘪胎). /ðəʊ/ he had a spare tire (备胎), he had nothing to work with. I decided to help him. I changed the tire for him and let him sit in my air-conditioned car while I did it. Fifteen (minute) later, I finished the work. I was hot and tired, but I /'ri:əli/ felt good after an act of kindness to the man.
Helping others is the source (源泉) of happiness. That's true. We should lend a hand to others in trouble.
