Students taught to love parents
A middle school in Wuhan has stood out among other schools in students' love and care for their parents. The students are asked to spend at least one hour doing housework for their parents or giving some help in the neighborhood every Sunday, Mother's Day and parents' birthdays.
The school aims(旨在) at turning the students into well-mannered children.The students, mostly from one-child families, were taught to be a good child under strict rules. For example, they are now used to saying good-bye to parents in the morning before they go to school. And no one forgets to say hello to the parents when they return from school. The parents are pleased to find their children can help them with some housework such as making beds, washing and cooking.

When we buy a house, we all want to have nice neighbours, because most of us think that it is helpful to live with some good neighbours. But what kind of neighbour is good? The answers are different from people to people. Here are my answers.
First, it is very important to respect(尊敬) each other. If our neighbours try to know more about our life, what will we feel? He or she may also talk with others about our life. Do you want to live with him or her any more? The answer is "No". We will feel very sad to have this kind of neighbour and move away quickly.
Next, a good neighbour is always ready to give us a hand when we need him or her. For example, if we are not at home, our good neighbours will watch our house for us.
Finally, a good neighbour should love the environment(环境). He or she never puts rubbish here and there. Good neighbours should keep the place clean, because the good environment can make us comfortable and happy.
I think we all should learn to be good neighbours, and I also hope everyone will have good neighbours and live a happy life.
Confidence（自信） is very important in daily life. It can help you to develop a healthy attitude（态度）. A study shows that the people who are more confident are much happier. They can have more chance to make themselves successful. Here are some suggestions (建议)about how to be more confident（自信的）.
Speak aloud. When you are not confident, you can't do well what you want to do. You speak in a voice so low that other people can hardly hear you. Try to speak aloud enough so that people can hear you clearly.
The high voice can help you become more confident.
Play sports. Physical exercise makes you tired but completely relaxed. A strong body helps you be full of confidence.
Encourage （鼓励）yourself. Write down a list of things you did during the day to see how many things you have done well. Did you finish your homework? Did you tell a joke that made everybody laugh? Give yourself praise for the good things you've done.
Pick up a hobby. If you like singing, sing as much as you can. In some ways, a hobby can make you outstanding. And it will make you happy and confident.
Get rid of（消除）fear. Fear comes along with failure（失败）. But it's easy to overcome if you know that failure is part of your life. Don't hide your head just because you said something stupid last time. Try to start again and believe you can do better.

On 20th June 1702 I set off(出发) for Surat, on a ship called the Adventure(冒险). And indeed "adventure" was an appropriate name for that ship, and for everything that happened on that trip.
The first part of our trip went well. But later there were some terrible storms(糟糕的暴风雨). The winds were so strong that they sent our ship off course(航线). We had no idea where we were.
At last, when the storms stopped, we saw an island(岛). We had no more drinking water so the captain sent me to find some freshwater on the island. I set off with some other men in a small boat. And when we got there, I travelled around the island by myself while the men looked for water.
That was a big mistake(错误). When I went back there were no men and no boat! Then I saw themrowing back to our ship with a giant(巨人) following them in the sea! They were very afraid.
I ran as fast as I could. I then climbed a big hill and when I looked around I saw fields. Then I saw other giants working in the fields.
"On my last trip I was a giant on an island of tiny(小的) people and now I am a tiny person on an island of giant!" It was not a nice feeling. I was so sad and hid behind a big tree. I had to think of a plan but at that time one of the giants saw me.

One day, a king was travelling in his own land(土地). He saw a farmer who was working so hard that he didn't see a snake on his leg. The king shouted, "Farmer, there is a snake on your leg!" The farmer shook(摇动) the snake off and went on his work. The king was surprised by this and asked, "Don't you know that the snake can hurt you? Is your work more important than your life? " The farmer said, "If I don't work hard, my family will starve to death(饿死) ! That's the only thing that I am afraid of." The king was moved and decided to give the farmer a lot of money.
A year later, the king met the farmer again. The farmer was well dressed and looked a little fat. The king saw that he had a bandage(绷带) on his right hand. The king asked his," what happened to your hand?" The farmer replied, "my finger was pricked(刺伤) by thorns(刺) on a pumpkin. Now I need to take care of my hand." The king was surprised. "When you were poor, you weren't afraid of a snakebite. But now you say that you need to rest after being pricked by thorns!" The farmer said, Maybe you've never heard the saying: "That was then, this is now!"
Rabbits are nice pets for older children and adults. These small animals are kind and cute. They have round eyes, long ears and soft fur. Their lovely looks make many people1to keep them. There are many different kinds of rabbits and they2live about seven to nine years. Rabbits are good to keep at home and they enjoy3close to their owners. As long as you take good care of your pet,4a rabbit can be an5experience. If you really decide to keep a rabbit as a pet, the following6are useful for you.
First, you need to choose a cage as a house for7rabbit. A good rabbit cage is about four feet wide, two feet deep and two feet tall. If there are8animals at your home, you need to choose9area for your rabbit in order to stop other animals from10it. Second, a water bottle should be put on the side of the cage and fill it11fresh water every day. But don't give your rabbit much water to drink,12it can take in water from vegetables or other food. If it takes in too much water, it can13get ill. Third, greens are very important to your rabbit's14. Try to feed it different kinds of greens. Usually, each meal should have two or three different kinds of vegetables. Most rabbits need about a half cup of food each day. Check to see if your rabbit needs more or less.
What's more, spend a lot of time playing with your rabbit. The more love it feels,15it will be.
Failure(失败) may be a bad thing to everyone. But it happens quite often. How to overcome(克服) failure?
Here are some good ways to help us to make it.
Expect mistakes( 错误) We can't make sure that everything will go well. We should try to think of mistakes before doing something. Learn to accept(接受) mistakes in your life. Mistakes make us understand our life better and help us grow healthily. Mistake is not failure but the path to success(成功).
Keep cool Don't get angry but keep cool when you have a failure. If you're really angry, try to start again. Don't be angry with other people. Go for a run or a swim to give you enough time to think. Just do something to make yourself out of the strong feelings until you cool down.
Stop worrying Your failure will soon be yesterday's news. Don't be afraid that others will laugh at you. In fact, they are busy worrying about their own failures too. After all, everyone is going to fail from time to time. Pay no attention to what others think.
Remember to laugh The sun will come up again tomorrow. Things might be bad for a short time but how will worry help? Think back to a happy time when you feel down. So remember to laugh when you have a failure.
