Mrs. Beet, a 38-year-old woman, drives very fast to work every day.
On her way back from work yesterday afternoon, she was driving laster than usual because she was worried about her little son. He was alone at home. While she was trying to pass a truck before her, she saw another car coming. She quickly turned her steeling wheel (方问盘). Her car didn't hit the other car, but she could not stop her own car. It ran into the river.
Luckily, Mr. Jackson, a very good swimmer, saw what was happening. He jumped into the water at once. He swam over to the car. He got to Mrs. Beet through an open window. He pulled(拉) her out of the window and then out of the water. Back on land, he gave Mrs. Beet mouth-to-mouth breathing. Soon the lady came to herself.

My cousin Jeff is only thirteen years old. But he is a good student and he is also a

People in different countries like to eat different food. We all know Chinese like to eat dumplings when their friends come to their homes. Most people like eating dumplings at home. People like doing different things on different weather. They like to travel on nice days and fly kites when it is windy. But how can we know what the weather will be like?
Some people say they can know the weather from birds. When they see birds fly high out to the sea, they know it is a nice day, because birds don't like to fly out when it will rain. They may sit in a tree when rain is coming. When the weather will be bad, the birds come back to the beach. Big winds may come with rain. Birds do not like to fly in big winds. And if a big rain is going to be short, birds will usually wait for the rain to stop before looking for food. If you see birds eating during a rain, then it will probably last for a long time.
Other animals can also tell the weather. It's a cloudy day. Rain is coming. Chickens aren't quiet, and they are running here and there. Frogs(青蛙) are making a big noise in the pool. If it is a fine day, the frogs will come out of the water.
And some people know the weather by looking at the color of the clouds. Different colors] of the clouds also show something different about the weather. Black clouds mean that there is (暴风雨) that does not have strong winds. White clouds usually mean good weather, though a storm could be on its way later in the day.
