In August 2020, SkyDrive showed its new flying car, the SD-03. The small car flew around for about four minutes, staying about 3 to 6 feet(1 to 2 meters) off the ground.

The SD-03 is powered by batteries and has 8 motors(发动机), which lift it straight off the ground. Since flying cars don't use runways, they need to be able to take off and land by going straight up or down.

What made this test flight special was that a pilot was on board(在车上. Tomohiro Fukuzawa, who leads SkyDrive, said," Of the world's more than 100 flying car projects, only a few have succeeded with a person on board. "

It is hoped that in the future flying cars will be useful for short trips like taxi rides in cities. Flying cars can also save time in emergencies, and help reach places that can't be reached by road.

However, there are many obstacles in the way.

Controlling a flying car is so complicated (复杂的)that most people won't be able to do it

Safety is a major problem. What will happen if a motor fails? And it's also hard to control traffic in the air.

Flying cars also use a lot of energy- less than helicopters, but more than cars, or even airplanes carrying many people.

Finally, flying cars are very expensive. When it's ready, SkyDrive's flying car is

expected to sell for between $300,000 and $500,000.

But Mr. Fukuzawa says, "I think flying cars will become normal in the near future."

    1. (1) What is special about SD-03's test flight?
A . The car had a pilot on board. B . The car flew as high as 6 meters. C . The car flew as long as 10 minutes. D . The car was powered by electricity.
    2. (2) The Chinese meaning of "obstacles" in Paragraph 5 is ____.
      A . 事故 B . 困难 C . 可能 D . 机遇
    3. (3) What does the underlined word "it" in Paragraph 6 refer to(指代)?
      A . SD-03's test flight. B . Controlling a flying car. C . Saving time in emergencies. D . Reaching places that can't be reached by road.
    4. (4) What does Mr. Fukuzawa say about flying cars?
A . They will face lots of challenges. B . They are green and power-saving. C . They will become a common way of traveling. D . They are too expensive for working-class people.
    5. (5) What is the passage mainly about?
A . The history of flying cars. B . A test flight of a new flying car. C . An introduction to a new flying car. D . Advantages and disadvantages of flying cars.

The law also gives special mention to children of migrant workers (外出务工人员) in rural areas. They may be alone when their parents have left to work in cities. It asks local governments to keep a close eye on such families, and help the parents get jobs locally so that they can be responsible for their children's education.
