I often1 my summer holidays just with my parents. It is quite boring. But last summer holiday was2. Some of my friends came to stay with my parents and me for a week at our summer house. It is in a small beach town called Portsea. They got there by train. It3 them three hours.

One morning my friends and I4  to take my parents' boat for a ride. We rowed （划船）5  half an hour and found a big cave （山洞）. Susan said it could be dangerous to go into it. 6 Peter said it was okay. 7 we started rowing again and got in. Then the tide （潮） started. At first we thought we could fight it but we were8. We shouted for9but there was no one around. Susan and I started to cry. Louis told us not to worry because the tide would be out. How are you？I'm writing to say a big "thank you" for my birthday gift. I really love the MP6 and I listen to it every day when I walk to work.

Everything here is going well. I started my new job last week and I like it very much. These days I'm living with some friends in an apartment （公寓） in the city center, but it's very expensive, ten kilometers outside the city.

What other news（消息）is here？Well, I'm learning to drive these days. Mom told me on the phone last night that you bought a new car. Is the car cool？

Lei Haiwei is a 38-year-old food courier（送餐员）. He wins the Chinese Poetry Conference（《中国诗词大会》）and gets a lot of fans after the show because of his love for Chinese poems.

"My son showed great interest in Chinese poems when he was six years old. Every time I told him the stories behind the poems, he was so happy, " Lei's father said.

In 2001, Lei left school and found a job in Shanghai. During his stay there, Lei read the poem Xia Ke Xing. It reignited（重燃）, Lei read at bookstores and libraries in his free time. He also developed a habit of reciting（背诵）poems and writing them down after returning home. Lei came to Hangzhou in 2008. He works as a food courier. Usually, he keeps reading poetry books.

Anita worked hard in a restaurant this summer vacation. She wanted to make enough money to pay（支付）for school. She was eighteen years old. She thought it was time to learn to live on her own（独立地）. She didn't want to get money from her parents all the time. Anita worked from 7 a. m. to 2 p. m. every day. After that she went to the library to do her homework or went out to play with her friends.

One week before the end of the summer vacation, Anita met a problem. Her friends decided to go to Hawaii for a trip, and they asked Anita to go with them. Anita really wanted to go, too. The money she made from the restaurant was not enough to afford both（支付两者）.

Before we went back home, we took many beautiful photos. What a wonderful day we had!

Do you like running? Running is one of the most popular activities these days. Many of us run for our. Doctors say many of the health problems come from such bad habits as eating too , drinking too much, smoking, staying up late and not having enough exercise. Doctors tell us, don't smoke, have enough sleep and exercise more. "Running is a good exercise because it build a strong body. It also helps many people lose weight. Running is good for health in other ways, too. Many say running makes some small health problems go. "Running is my doctor, "says a man.

Drink enough water. Drink at least eight glasses of water a day. It's not good for your health. Have breakfast every day. Breakfast is the most important meal of a day. Going to school without（没有） breakfast is bad for your health.

Eat a nutritious（有营养的）lunch. Eating a nice and nutritious lunch every day is important.

Don't eat dinner too late. Try to have dinner at least three hours before you go to bed.

Eat fruit and vegetables. Fruit and vegetables are rich in vitamins. Add a banana to your breakfast, have lunch with salad, and eat some vegetables at dinner.
