August Wilson was a famous American writer. He left school in the ninth grade. In the late 1960s, Wilson built a theater and began to think of ways to make people know more about African-American life. He had the idea of a series of(系列) plays. Each of the plays showed how African-Americans lived.
The first play of this series was Mu Ruiney's Black Bottom about black musicians in Chicago in the 1920s. Other plays in the scribes like Joe Turner's Come and Gone, were about the blacks in the 1910s Fences , which was about a father and his son in the 1950s and The Piano' Lesson, was about how a family sold their treasure(珠宝) in the 1930s. For the last two of these plays Wilson got Pulitzer Prizes.
King Hedley the Second, the eighth and the last play of the scribes, set in the 1980s. Both the blacks and the whites like his plays now and his plays attract anyone who is interested in African-American life.

Hua Mei Store sells very good things. They sell the most fashionable(时尚的)clothes and the best record players(音响). And they have the best service. However, people don't often shop there because the things are also the most expensive. And it is far from the town center.
Heart to Heart Store is the most popular store in town. The things there aren't the cheapest, and they aren't the most expensive. It doesn't have the best things, and it doesn't have the worst. So it is popular. The clothes aren't the most fashionable, but they're more fashionable than the clothes at many other stores. And its location(位置) is convenient(方便的), too.
Friends are very important in everyone's life because friends are always there when we need them. It's great to have many friends, and l can't think about my life without my friends.

Xu Jiayu is a Chinese swimmer. Just before he went to the 18th Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia, he said he wanted to win more than three gold medals(金牌) at the event. His fans weren't sure if this was possible. But they were surprised that Xu did it. He won five gold medals at the Asian Games, which ended on Sopt. 2. He won more gold medals than any other swimmer at the games.
Xu also beat(打败) his idol(偶像)—Japanese swimmer Ryosuke Irie. Xu started competing against Irie in 2014. On Aug. 19, during the men's 50 m backstroke finals (仰泳决赛), Xu finally beat Irie. He was quite happy after the competition. "Four years ago. I lost to him in the same event. Today, I fought back and. won!" Xu said.
