When I was 14, my only dream was to become the star in our football team. That meant beating out Tom, who was the best1at our school.

The skilled Australian isn't the only sportsman setting records while unable to play regular sports. David Rush, from the US, became the fastest one to put on 10 T-shirts, taking only 15.61 seconds. David has already held many records. For example, he broke the record of the most juggling catches on a unicycle(独轮车) while his eyes were covered. "I loved watching the Guinness World Record specials on TV," said David. "I was fascinated and wanted to have a try myself."

Then there is Dr. Vikas Saini, another sportsman, who could put on 10 different socks very quickly (9.23 seconds) when he sat on the floor in his home in India. Guinness officials have noticed more record tries from homes and gardens. They've received applications(申请书) for different kinds of records. "We are inside, but we still want to encourage people to be creative and lift people's spirits. So we continue to provide people with a chance so that they can learn about and try to set world records," records manager Chrissy Fernandez said. "Guinness would like to keep people joining us and having fun because being inside can be a little boring."

Many people know that rubbish is a big problem on planet Earth. What many people don't know is that junk has become a problem in outer space too. According to BBC News, there are more than 22,000 pieces of space junk floating(漂浮) around the earth. And these are just the things that we can see from the surface of the earth by telescopes. There are also millions of smaller pieces of junk that we can't see.

Objects, like bits of old space rockets or satellites, move around the planet at very high speeds, so fast that even a very small piece can break important satellites or become dangerous to astronauts. If the tiniest piece of junk crashed(碰撞) into a spaceship, it could damage the vehicle.

To make things worse, when two objects in space crash, they break into many smaller pieces. For example, when a U.S. satellite hit an old Russian rocket in 2009, it broke into more than 2,000 pieces, increasing the amount of space junk.

To reduce additional space junk, countries have agreed that all new space tools can only stay in space for 25 years at most. Each tool must be built to fall safely into the earth's atmosphere(大气层) after that time. In the upper parts of the atmosphere, it will burn up.

Many scientists are also suggesting different ways to clean up space junk. In England scientists are testing a metal net that can be fired into space junk. The net catches the junk and then pulls it into the earth's atmosphere to burn up. The Germans are building robots that can collect pieces of space junk and bring them back to Earth to be safely destroyed.

"The problem is becoming more challenging because we're sending more objects into space to help people use their mobile phones and computers," says Marco Castronuovo, an Italian space researcher. "The time to act is now. The longer we leave the problem, the bigger it will become," he says.

Living and dealing with kids can be a hard job these days, but living and dealing with parents can be even harder. Since I was a (十几岁的；青少年的) boy, I have learned that communication is very important, (两个都) when you disagree and when you get along. With any relationship, you need to let other people know your feelings. If you are not (能够) to communicate, things will become bad. When you are mad at your parents, not talking to them doesn't make any sense. If you look up the word "communication" in a dictionary, it will say "the exchange of ideas and (信息)." To keep a good relationship, you must keep the communication strong. Let people know how you feel, even if it's just by writing a (笔记). You have to make your parents feel good about how they are doing as parents. If you are trying to make them see something as you see it, tell them that you'll listen to what they say, but ask them (礼貌地) to listen to you. Walking away only makes the situation (更糟的).

This is an example. One night, Sophie went to a street party with her friends. She knew she had to be home by midnight after the fireworks, but she felt it would be rude of her to ask to go home first. As a (结果), she was late getting home. Her parents were angry at first, but when Sophie (解释) why she was late, they weren't so mad. Communication is the key factor here.

Problems can only be (解决) with communication. Just remember, if you get into a situation like Sophie's, tell your parents how you feel.

The human brain weighs about 1.4 kilograms, but it can hold much more information than most computers. However, there is another difference between humans and computers. Computers don't forget information they are given, but humans often do. No one remembers everything, and luckily we don't usually have to. But everyone can improve their memory if they want to. Here are some suggestions.

◆Try to use new information immediately. For example, if you meet someone who says "Hi! I'm Carlos," don't just say "Hello." Repeat the person's name. Say "Hello, Carlos."

◆Break a big number into smaller parts. For example, it's hard to memorize 109244153. But if you break it into three parts — 109/244/153 — it becomes easier.

◆Write out what you need to remember often. This will help you keep it in mind longer, especially for memorizing facts.

◆Always review information. If you bring what you've learned back to your mind, they become easier to remember. For example, before you go to sleep, it's a good idea to review the new things you learned that day.

◆Discuss with a friend. It is always easier to remember things through discussions. You can talk about what's right and what's wrong, and it will lead to the right answer.

◆Never tell yourself that you have a bad memory. You can always do something to help improve your memory. And everyone's memory gets better if they use it often enough.
