    Hello! My name is Elizabeth. My family and friends call me Beth. I am twelve years old and I live with my parents and my brother in a big house. My father designed (设计) our house. It is in a town not far from London in a very quiet street.

    It is seven o'clock in the evening. I am in my room. I'm sharing(合用) this room with my brother, because my grandmother is staying with us for a month. My grandmother is reading a newspaper on the sofa. My father is cleaning the house. He is great and he often helps my mother with the housework. My mother and my brother are cooking in the kitchen.

    My mother loves flowers, so we have a big garden (花园) behind our house. On Saturdays she spends a lot of time in the garden. My brother and I usually go swimming and my father just sits in front of the TV watching his favorite shows.

    Mr Jones and Mr Brown work in the same office (办公室).One day Mr Jones says to Mr Brown, "I will have a small party at our house on Monday evening. Would you and your wife like to come?"

    Mr Brown says, "Thank you very much. I'd love to, but let me ask my wife first." So Mr Brown goes to the other room and telephones his wife. Then he comes back and looks very worried.

    "What's the matter?" asks Mr Jones. "Is your wife there at home?"

    "No," answers Mr Brown. "She isn't there. My small son answers the telephone. I say to him, 'Is your mother there, David?' and he answers 'No, she isn't in the house.' 'Where is she?' I ask, 'She is somewhere outside (在外面).' 'What's she doing?' 'She is looking for me.'"

    Mr. Clark calls me. I run to the high school. He is watching the school.

    "What are you doing?" I ask him.

    "I am looking at that window," says Mr. Clark." 

    "Maybe the janitor (看门人) is inside＂I say.

    "No," says Mr. Clark. "The janitor doesn't work on Saturdays. And yesterday, the windows were closed."

    " " I ask.

    "That is the principal's (校长的) office window," says Mr. Clark. "The principal has test papers in his office. Someone may be stealing (偷)them. And look!  "

    Mr. Clark and I watch the man. He climbs out the window. Then he stands on the ground and closes the window

    "He's not a student", I say, "He looks too old. Is he the principal? "

    "No, he is not the principal," says Mr. Clark. "The principal doesn't have a beard (胡子).That man does.”

    I see something in his hand.  Let's stop him, "I say.

    We run quickly all the way to catch the man.

    "Stop right there," I say. "Who are you? Why are you here? "

    The man turns around.

    "Principal Hansen!" says Mr. Clark. "You have a beard now!"

    "Yes, it's new," says the man." I needed something from my office.  "

            ①         How are you these days? I am in Beijing for six months. And every-thing is going well with me. But I am a little busy.

            ②         My husband (丈夫), Ben, is busy with his work. Every day he gets up at half past six and then goes to work by bus. Usually it takes him about two hours to get to his office. It's far from our home.

             ③        And my child is only two years old. She is too young, so I can't go to work and have to look after (照顾) her at home,

             ④        It's ten o'clock now. We just finish the dinner. Now Ben is doing the dishes. He is tired but he still helps me when he gets home. I just tell my girl a story to help her sleep. After writing to you, I need to prepare breakfast for tomorrow morning. And then I can go to sleep.

    Many people do not like to stay at home on holidays. They want to go out to see something different or do something exciting. So people from the country come to the city and people from the city go to the country for holidays. During the holidays, trains, buses and planes are all very busy. It is very hard to buy train tickets or air tickets(机票). Many people take cars or buses for traveling.

    Last May Day my family went to the country by car for our holiday. There was too much traffic on the road, so we had to move very slowly. It took us about an hour to get out of the town. After some time, we came to a hill(山). It was green and beautiful. We thought this was a good place for a picnic, so we stopped and took the food, fruit and drinks out of the car. We sat down and began to eat. Suddenly a strong wind blew and soon it started to rain. We had to run back to our car and have our picnic in the car. Then we drove back home. What a bad trip!

    It's five o' clock in the afternoon. It's time home. But we must our classroom. There  five students in our team. Now there are only three. I'm cleaning the room. The others  games. What are Jim and Tom doing? Do you know?
