Lei Haiwei, a food courier (快递员) man, won the final (决赛) of the third season of Chinese Poetry Competition (中国诗词大会) on CCTV on April 4. His s surprised all the Chinese people a lot.
Lei Haiwei, a 37-year-old man, cfrom Shaoyang, Hunan Province. He is now working as a food courier man in Hangzhou, the cof Zhejiang Province.
When he was at the age of six, he was iin ancient poems (古诗词). Lei said, “My father hoped I would grow up to be a man who keeps the mountains, rivers, lakes and seas in mind. He also tme the stories behind each poem. He wpoems down, put them up on the wall of the kitchen and taught me to read them from a young age.” In his father's small house, there is a bookshelf (书架) fof books about ancient poems.
Lei didn't go to college. But he never gave up his interest in poems. Because he was t poor to buy books, Lei would remember the poems in bookshops and write them out when he returned home.
Now, as a busy food courier, he reads and remembers poems by u his mobile when waiting for food to be prepared. It helps him relax during his fast-paced life.
