How do people find their inner talent? British author and speaker Sir Kenneth Robinson talked about this at TED. He told the story of Gillian Lynne, a dancer and a choreographer who has worked on famous musicals like Cats ad Phantom of the Opera.

Gillian Lynne never did well in school as a child. She couldn't concentrate and often found herself moving restlessly. Her mother was quite worried about her. She took Lynne to a doctor. For 20 minutes, she talked about the problems Lynne was having in school. Then, the doctor said to Lynne," I need to speak to your mother first. Wait here."

As they left the room, the doctor turned on the radio. He then said to Lynne's mother," Just stand and watch her. The minute they left the room, Lynne was on her feet, dancing to the music on the radio.

So she did. Lynne's new dance school was full of people just like her-people who had to move in order to think. Lynne later went to the Royal Ballet School, one of the world's greatest dance schools, and became a great dancer.

It may sound crazy to you, but this is a time-honored tradition in the Netherlands called "dropping". Dutch people believe that children should not depend too much on their parents and should learn how to solve problems through activities like "dropping".

However, for many other parents around the world, their top concern is their children's safety.

People have many different opinions about parenting In China, for example, many parents spend anywhere from 20, 000 to 50,000 yuan on summer vacation activities for their children, according to NetEase.

But some parents try too hard and become "helicopter parents", which is basically the opposite of "dropping". They worry too much about their children and pay attention to everything they do-like helicopters flying over their children. In their eyes, children need to be protected all the time.

But this might not be a good parenting style either, according to American parenting expert Kenneth Ginsburg .

    B. After all, why should they put their children at risk when there are many other ways to nurture their independence?
