"Aha, mum, you are joking.7 can flowers speak?" laughs John.
They walk on. "Perhaps we can have a dog cat cow chicken sheep ice cream," says his mum.
John laughs again. "Mum,8so silly (傻的). That sounds strange. You can't have that 9of ice cream."
John keeps smiling from that moment. Mum feels happy now that John is happy. John thanks his mum for making 10happy. He thinks his mum is great.
Homework is your teacher's way of checking how much students understand the lessons in class. As a student, you always have too much homework, but you have to finish it. Here are some tips to make homework less work.
First, write the task down in your notebook. If you forget it, please ask the teachers again. Second, use any extra time in school to work on your homework.
Find a place at home and it doesn't need to be very large, just big enough to put your school things on it. You'd better not do it before a computer or on your comfortable bed.
Having a 15—minute break every hour is good for you. After you finish your homework, check it over. Be sure to put it safely away in your backpack. Now you're free to play outside.

In our school, many students love sports. We have PE lessons twice a week, but we do sports after school every day.
We like playing ball games. One sport is basketball. The boys like playing it best, and many of the girls enjoy playing it, too. Another sport is football. In every class, there are lots of football fans. We often play volleyball when the weather is fine. Besides ball games, some of the students like running, cycling and swimming.
We have school teams of basketball, football and baseball. Our school teams often have matches with teams from other schools. When there is a match, many students go to watch and cheer for them. We have a sports meeting once a year. We like sports and sports help us keep healthy.

Also, potatoes are easy to grow. People can grow them in almost every part of China. Potatoes don't need much water to grow. China is facing water shortage problems, so potatoes are a good choice.
Many Chinese people think potatoes are like vegetable. They cook potatoes along with other ingredients (材料). But as a staple, potatoes can be cooked differently. Scientists have found ways to make potato flour, noodles and other staple food, just like how we use rice or wheat.
Four ways to have a good school life
Your schooldays should be some of the best and happiest days of your life. How can you get the most from them and be sure you do not waste(浪费) this great chance to learn?
Be active (积极的) at school
Don't say things are difficult or boring. Take interest in school life and your school subjects. Join lots of activities. Put up your hands quickly in class. Go around the school with a big smile. If you are not working, you are wasting your time at school. Teachers cannot make everything enjoyable (令人愉快的).
Keep fit
If you do not eat a good breakfast, you will be thinking about food in class. If you go to bed late and do not have enough sleep, you will be sleepy in class. Play enough sports every day in order to keep your body strong.
Face the problem
Do not say you will do things tomorrow. If you get behind the class, it is very difficult to get back in front. You cannot finish the race if you rest all the time. Everyone fails some exams, loses some matches and has bad days. Don't make small problems seem very big and important. Don't forget to ask for help. You are young and no one thinks you must do everything quite well!
Spend the weekends
Don't waste time lying in bed on Saturday or Sunday morning. Go and play a sport, get together with friends in the park to relax, or learn to play the piano. If you don't want to go out, there are also a lot of things to do. You may read a book, practice English or help parents with housework. Follow our advice, and have a happy school life!

Teachers help us so much. We should thank them for all their hard w. Chinese students have the T Day on September 10th. And h do American students show their thanks to their teachers?
American schools have Teacher Appreciation (感激) Week. It is in spring and has a hof more than 60 years. Usually, activities son Monday. The Teacher Appreciation Week comes on Tuesday.
Schools usually have p with flowers and gifts for teachers on Tuesday. They can enjoy some nice food and drinks there. There are some pictures around the school to s students' love to teachers.
American students like to give small gifts like flowers and thank-you cto their teachers. Teachers are very g to get these things from students.
These two activities in China and America are s, but our love for teachers lasts (持续) so long!
