Holidays in China
There are many holidays in China. Holidays are very fun. I can play with my friend's 1 holidays. January 1 is New Year's Day. I like 2 shopping on that day. March 3 is Kites Day, I can 3 with my parents. 4 is International Workers' Day. We have Children's Day 5. We 6 in the school every year. We sing and dance. We are very 7. Teachers 'Day comes 8 September 10. We always give 9 or cards to our teachers. October 1 is China's 10. We often have a seven-day holiday.
Somebody says that it is raining cats and dogs. We know it means it is raining heavily. Here you can know why people say like this.
There are many large rats (老鼠) in a country. People need cats. But there are many mountains in the country. It's hard for a plane to land. So the cats come down by parachute (降落伞). In another country, the people need dogs to help people to find the people in the snow. Where can they get them? You can guess. The dogs come down by parachute. Both cats and dogs are coming down by parachute, just like the raindrops coming from the sky. So there is the saying "It is raining cats and dogs".
These cats and dogs help the people. And the people often say it rains cats and dogs. This kind of old saying is very interesting.
There are four seasons in a year: spring, summer, autumn and winter.
Spring is the best season of the year. The weather gets warmer and the days get longer. The crops begin to grow. The trees turn green and flowers come out.
Summer comes after spring. It is the hottest season. It often rains and the crops grow fast. The best sport in summer is swimming. Children often go swimming in rivers and lakes.
Autumn is a busy season. The days get shorter and the nights get longer. It is a harvest season. The farmers are busy. They are getting in the crops.
Winter is the coldest season of the year. Sometimes it snows and the fields are all white. Skating is the best sport in winter. Many boys and girl often go skating. But the farmers are still busy. They are getting ready for the next year.
