Du Dengwen, 56, measures with his (foot) the long and dangerous mountain roads (run) through the countryside. The place (sit) in the northwest of Central China's Hunan province. Du has delivered( 投递) mail and goods to the villagers from their loved ones, most of have migrated( 移 居 ) to the cities for a living.
For the past thirty years, he has brought joy to the mountain residents, because it means(letter) or parcels are coming their way.
Du joined the local post station March 1990 and was
(immediate) serving more than 5,000 residents in 13 villages away in the woods.
His family advised him (give) up and find another job. But, Du had clearly had close friendship with the local villagers and refused to give up on his difficult job.
Although Du will retire soon, he says: "If villagers need me, I will keep(work) for them. "
