One day Daddy and I went out for a walk. On the way we1a lot of people. We went up and 2 a look. Oh, dear! 3 did we see? There 4 a donkey (驴) in the middle of the road. It would not move. The cars and buses could not get past. Then a policeman came. "5donkey is this?" he asked. "It's mine(我的)," said a farmer, "but I6move it." The policeman and the farmer did 7 best to move the donkey, but it would not move. We laughed, but the 8 of the cars and the buses were worried. "We can't move the donkey," the farmer and the policeman said. "What shall we do?" "Give him a carrot," my father said.
"That's a good idea!" said the farmer.
Soon he found a carrot and showed it to the donkey. When the donkey saw a carrot, it jumped up and walked after the farmer. All the cars and buses could get past at last.
Today is Sunday. It is warm and nice. The sun is shining. The sky is blue. It is Jane's 13th birthday today. She is in red. She looks very pretty today. There is a big cake on the table and there are thirteen candles on it. Jane is now waiting for her friends.
Alice, Tom and Mary are going to Jane's birthday party. They are not going to buy any presents for her. They are going to give her a surprise. They make the present themselves! It is a model plane. It looks lovely. They know that Jane wants to make real planes when she grows up!
Asking the way
Bobby's grandmother is ill. She is in Sun Shing Hospital. Bobby's mother tells him to take a basket of eggs to her. But Bobby doesn't know the way. On the way Bobby sees an old man. The old man walks in front of him. He goes up and says, "Hi, old fellow…" But the old man doesn't answer him and walks on. Bobby gets puzzled. Suddenly(突然) he understands why. It is not polite(礼貌 ) to say "old fellow" to an old man. Now he goes up to the old man again and asks, "Excuse me, grandpa, would you please tell me the way to the Sun Shing Hospital?" The time the old man answers, "Well, go along this street, then turn left. It's just behind the post office."
Bobby thanks the old man and walks on. Soon he finds the hospital.
