It is spring. The wind is blowing gently. We are having a picnic in the park. All of my1are here. Some boys are playing football. Joe2play football well but John can. Some girls are walking3a small lake. They look so happy. Alice4a book under a tree. She always works so hard. Our teacher and some other pupils are sitting on the grass. They are talking about their5.Kitty wants to be a pilot. She wants to fly to many other countries(国家).Ben wants to be a teacher. We are all having a good time.
Wind is all around us. You can feel it, but you cannot see it or grab hold of (抓住) it. Wind is very useful. Winds help cool the hot land (土地). Winds help warm the cold land. Winds pick up water from oceans(海洋) and later drop this moisture(水分).That is the rain. Winds carry the seeds of plants from one place(地方) to another. Winds help us a lot.
Of course (当然), not all winds are good winds. Some hot winds stop rain from falling in deserts (沙漠). Very cold winds can kill (杀死) living things. Very big winds can blow down large trees and damage(摧毁) small houses. Even so(虽然如此), we would find it hard to live without(没有) winds.
In a traditional American (美国的) family, there is a mother, a father and two or more (更多的)children. The dad is often the breadwinner (挣钱养家的人), and the mum takes care of the house and children.
Parents ask children to do some work around their home each day. Doing housework teaches children responsibility (责任).And in many families, parents pay(支付) children for doing some housework, so the children can learn how to make money (钱) for their own use.
Children in the US leave their parents' home when they grow up. Americans think it's important for young people to decide(决定) on their lives by themselves. Parents usually let their children choose(选择) their own jobs. Children usually live far from their parents' home because (因为) they have to work in other places. They often write to their parents or make phone calls to them. And they often visit their parents on holidays.
