It was a Sunday morning. Peter was watching TV in the room while his brother Bill was doing his homework. At ten their mother came back with a bag of oranges. Peter liked them and wanted to eat them quickly. But his mother stopped him. She gave five to each son and went to the kitchen. Peter ate his oranges soon but his brother was busy doing his homework and didn't eat his. Just then, the telephone rang and Bill ran to answer it. Bill's friends asked him to play soccer with them. And when Bill talked with his friend, Peter took two of his oranges away and ate them. Bill found it and called him out and beat him behind the house. Peter didn't tell his parents about it.
The next morning Peter's teacher, Mrs Ball, taught the students subtraction(减法). Peter was looking at the bird in the tree out of the window and couldn't answer her questions. The teacher started to give him an example," If your brother has five oranges and you take two from him, what will the result be?"
"He'll beat me, teacher," answered the boy. All his classmates started to laugh.
It is necessary to share your feelings with others. Sharing your feelings helps you to get closer to people you care about and who care about you.
Sometimes it can be really hard not to tell anyone that you're feeling sad, worried, or upset. Don't keep feelings locked inside. If that, it can even make you feel sick!
But if you talk with someone who cares for you, like your mom or dad, you will not be all alone with your problems or worries. It doesn't mean your problems and worries go off, but at least someone else knows what your trouble is and can help you find ways to do with it.
If the person doesn't understand what you mean right away, try explaining it in a different way or give an example that has something to do with you. Of course, there are many ways for you to speak up your feelings. If you think you'll have trouble saying what's on your mind, write it down on a piece of paper.
Some of us, just like some adults, are more private(有隐私的) than others. That means some people will feel shy about sharing their feelings. A kid doesn't have to share every feeling he or she has, but it is important to share feelings when a kid needs help.
A proverb is a short, well-known saying that tells a common truth or belief. Proverbs are popular around the world.
Many listeners have sent us their favorite proverbs. They give advice about how to live. We begin with two popular proverbs about staying healthy by eating good food. One is" An apple a day keeps the doctor away." The other is" You are what you eat."
Several proverbs about birds also give advice. You may have heard this one: The early bird catches the worm. This means a person who gets up early, or acts quickly, has the best chance of success. Another famous proverb is" a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush". This means you should not risk losing something you have by searching something that is not guaranteed(有保证的).
Another proverb warns "do not put all your eggs in one basket". This means you should not put all of your resources(资源) together in one place because you could risk losing everything at one time.
Here is more advice: If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Also," Never put off until tomorrow what you can do today."
Yet another proverb advises us not to be concerned about something bad that you cannot change. It says," There is no use crying over spilled milk."
Do you agree with the proverb" Children should be seen and not heard"? Maybe you have told your children that" hard work never hurt anyone". But other people say that" all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy". They believe it is not wise to spend all your time working but never having fun.
Finally, here is one of our favorite proverbs: People who live in glass houses should not throw stones. This means you should not criticize other people unless you are perfect yourself.
That's all for today. Thanks for listening.

My mother told me that when I was born, I was the most beautiful baby in the world. Time passed, and I started to be a 1 and happy girl.
Then, one day when I was five years old, my life 2 a lot. I had a high fever. The doctor gave me the wrong medicine 3 it brought me a lot of problems with my speech. So I couldn't speak. And the doctor told us I would 4 be able to speak well again or learn another language.
However, my mom couldn't believe I lost my speech. She sent me to a lot of teachers. 5, she found the right teacher, Nina, to help me make my dream come true. She was a very 6 person. She encouraged me and told me that I would speak again. The most amazing thing was that she taught me to read my 7. I remember that I spent hours in front of the mirror and tried to repeat every word that I said. Imagine losing your speech and having to learn 8 again. For me, it was like being hurt again. Yes, I was! I learned to talk and speak my mother language—Spanish.
Now, I am studying English. I can't believe that I am learning another 9. But, I am! I am crying because 10 here makes me feel happy, and it makes me 11 when I remember what the doctor said to my mom,"12 will never be able to speak or learn another language."
I'll always remember the beautiful words my mom said to me 13 I was a child and began to learn to speak again." You are fighting in a war. Trust yourself and try your 14, and then you will get a beautiful medal for your success. You will achieve an impossible dream that people say you will never do. I believe 15 you, and you are my hero."
Now when I am going to take every step in my studies and in my life, I try to think about my experience and be a thankful person.
Now more and more Chinese teenagers find life more difficult without their parents. They don't know how (do) housework their parents almost do everything at home. That is a big problem.
Joy is a fourteen-year-old girl. One day, her parents went away on a trip, so she was alone at home. At first she (think) she would be happy because her parents were not in. She could do what she liked. But when it was six o'clock in the afternoon, she felt (hunger)."Oh, it's time (have) dinner. Where can I get my dinner?" she said to (she). Later she found some meat and vegetables in the fridge, she didn't know how to cook them. At that moment, she missed her parents very much. At last she could only go to the supermarket to buy some food to eat.
Many teenagers have same problem. So I think they should learn some life skills, like (cook), tidying up their rooms or dressing themselves. They shouldn't depend their parents too much.
